Aztec Shops is responsible for operating the bookstore and all restaurants and food service operations (to include Catering and Concessions) on the campus of San Diego State University. Our workforce consists of 150 full-time professional/management employees, and up to 770 part-time employees (mostly college students) during our busiest times of year. We offer a variety of positions in fun and diverse environments, with the goal of helping college students gain valuable work experience while keeping their education their number one priority.

Other positions, such as Food Service Associates (Dining) and Sales Associates (Bookstore) are not posted on the web, but instead are advertised during the hiring seasons by signage on campus. Depending on the position, some applicants will be hired at time of interview, and others may go through a panel or multiple one-on-one interviews. Therefore, please be sure to bring all applicable unexpired documents to verify your eligibility to work in the United States at time of interview. The majority of jobs at Aztec Shops are part-time, which is to accommodate student employees' needs while attending classes. All of our part-time jobs provide "Reasonable Assurance" that there will be part-time hours available (in their previous department, or similar) upon returning from summer and winter breaks. Since the location of our business operates on a University campus, and our jobs are based on an academic schedule, part-time employees may not be eligible for Unemployment Insurance during these scheduled breaks (California Unemployment Insurance Code, Section 822).
